This blog is about 2 couples, Kobus and Hetta Pietersen from Paarl and Charl and Susan Prinsloo from Bellville , South Africa who have decided you only live once and the time is now. Earlier there were too many commitments, later we wont be able to get into the roof top tent! With 2 Toyota Hilux bakkies, we are going to travel from Paarl to Cairo in 3 months through the Great Rift valley, all along its lakes and the Nile river, from its source to where it runs into the Mediterranean ocean in Egypt . Everything from the southern tip of Africa, the Atlantic ocean and Table Mountain in Cape Town, Paarl mountains and the vineyards, Central Kalahari and Okavango river in Botswana, Northern Zambia, Tanzania, Zanzibar island, Mount Kilimanjaro, Ngorogoro crater , the savana plains of Serengeti with the wildebeest trek, Lake Tanganyika where Stanley found Livingstone ,gorillas in Rwanda, Shoe bill in Uganda, chameleons and ?through the volcanic Calibi desert in Kenya , rock hewn churches and the Ark in Ethiopia, bush (desert) camping in the Nubian desert in Sudan , crossing lake Nassar to Egypt ?, Valley of the Kings with all its tombs , a dive in the red sea , all the people ,tribes, cultures, music and food of Africa .Then we will end up in Egypt with its Pyramids at the northern point of Africa . Vehicles back per ship and we will fly back south, to Cape Town in a day.DV
