We are now at Toyota, the bakkies are in for a service.? Johan Munnik and Jose Alvares of Toyota are very helpful. Our bakkies are being serviced immediately, we get access to the internet, they will take us to the ferry to cross to Zanzibar and the bakkies can park here until we get back. Excellent service, but then Africa is Toyota world; it is almost the only vehicle you will see on the roads.

At the ferry we were nearly taken for a ride by a few chancers ? they try to push us into a certain direction, but we realize that something is not right and soon we are in the right place. We cross with the ferry and stay over in the Africa House Hotel. The men decided to treat the women after all the days of roughing it. Not all women would have been able to endure this journey. Fortunately these two ladies grew up on farms.

We charge into the Africa House just in time for sunset over the sea and while we are covered in perspiration we just drop our back-packs in the presence of a number of amazed tourists and shout Kili Bakiri (cold Kilimanjaro beer) and drop into the chairs.
