We spend the day at a youth hostel near Lake Kivu. Here we are able to get internet connection which is difficult to find. The places advertise that they are connected to the internet, but it is limited and you cannot blog or upload photographs.

We camped near the lake, do laundry and deal with internet issues and stroll on the banks of the lake. It looks like Cannes, Knysna and the Natal Coast rolled into one. There are no papers or rubbish to be seen anywhere on the side of the road or homes and all the curbs are neatly rounded off with rocks and masonry. I have never seen such a clean country. It is almost unreal.

There is a rather large military presence on the border with Congo which used to be a hotspot, but now things are peaceful. The youth hostel where we are staying is Discover Rwanda Gisenyi Beach with a reception pub area overlooking the lake. Where ever we stay the places are effectively and efficiently managed.
