Dag 41 Uganda, 0 grade Ewenaar !

Die Ruwenzori berge, The mountains of the moon, in die verte.

We are woken up early by the hippos and fish eagles in our bush-camp next to the channel. We drive the crater route in the QE National Park. Here we need to use 4X4 for the lava hills. It is a breathtaking route on the summit of a range of craters running from the Kazinga Channel.

Below in the craters it is green. There are trees, water, elephant, buffalo and flamingos. The Ruwenzori mountains, the mountains of the moon, lie in the distance. The explorers who were searching for the source of the Nile spoke of the mountain with the white clouds and called it Mountains of the moon.

Later we cross the Equator. This is an important moment for our group; an important milestone on the Cape-to-Cairo Route.

We set up camp at Kluges Guest Farm just before Fort Portal.

It is time for laundry.
