Boek in by Ghion hotel.

We turn off at Ziway via Butajira to Addis to avoid the traffic between Addis en Djibouti. Book in at Ghion Hotel. Addis Ababa is not really our cup of tea, but we have to get through it. It is a typical African city: busy, noisy with high traffic volumes. This city lies at the third highest altitude on earth.

We have now left the Rift Valley with all its lakes. It is arid, there is a permanent cloud of dust in the air and visibility is limited to a few kilometers.

We visit Yod Abysinnia, a cultural restaurant, the people perform their traditional dances and we eat traditional Ethiopian food which we round off with a coffee ritual.

We see a different side of Addis ? modern buildings and shops. The women are exotic and beautiful and it is evident why old Moses traveled so far down the Nile to find one for him. (Numbers 12:1).
